Front End Developer in West Midlands

Front End Developer

As a Front End Developer, you'll be responsible for bringing our visualisations/designs/UX to life, using the latest tools and techniques. Usability and performance are just as important to us as how something looks.

Front-End Developers are responsible for producing modular, maintainable code and will work closely with both back-end developers and UX / UI Designers to create translate designs in to the best possible digital experiences across a range of devices.

Core skills and responsibilities include:

  • Experience in HTML and CSS web development
  • Experience in object-oriented Javascript development – both at a core level and also working with frameworks including jQuery
  • Passionate about standards compliance and cross-browser / mobile compatibility
  • Able to accurately estimate timescales for completion of project work, large and small, and understand the commercial value of the work they produce
  • Working knowledge of Action Script and integrated Flash assets into front-ends
  • Experience in integrating systems with social networks
  • Experience templating for content management systems
  • An understanding of back end technologies
  • A working knowledge of Photoshop is a must

Salary wise outside of London the role generally pays between £22,00 - £40,000 depending on regional variance and level of experience.
