Head of Social Media
The Head of Social Media works at a strategic level. Working closely with the client, they will ensure a deep understanding of their core target audience, their commercial objectives and how to reach out their customers.
They will work closely with other marketing departments and/or agencies to ensure campaigns are integrated and the social activity reflects the broader marketing strategy.
They will be commercially minded, and through qualified research, be able to advise and steer clients and other departments on best course of action. They will be technically minded and able to decipher reports and stats to evaluate success and return on investment. A seasoned social marketer, they will have knowledge and experience of best practice and techniques.
To be considered, employers look for candidates who have either worked within a social media role, preferably managing a team and budgets. Agency vs in-house experience is less of any issue here, and more about proven experience in monetising social media and building brand value.
Salary wise outside of London the role generally pays between £42,000 to £58,000 depending on regional variance and level of experience.
