Excellent writing skills and understanding of the media are essential skills to be considered for the role of Press Officer. This might have been gained in a previous in-house or agency role. Preferred qualifications are degrees in English, Media or PR. Further qualifications from the PRCA or CIPR are also desirable.

Salary wise outside of London the role generally pays between £21,000 to £34,000 depending on regional variance and level of experience.
