Midlands PR Conference (Birmingham): Sustainability of Communications
Wednesday, 1 April 2020
9:30 to 17:00
Birmingham
Now in its third year, the 2020 Midlands PR Conference will explore how shifts in society and culture are forcing PR practitioners to evolve in order to stay relevant and sustainable in a changing landscape. Expectations of people working in and with our industry are changing, with a 24/7 ‘always on’ response expected at a time when more people expect and need flexible working to respond to the demands of modern stressful living. The ethics of PR practice continue to be under the microscope, as does our personal, professional and industry impact on society.
As PR practitioners, we must respond to these challenges to ensure the sustainability and relevance of the PR industry within the professional consultancy sector.
Jointly staged by the CIPR and PRCA and hosted by Birmingham City University, the Midlands PR Conference will feature three keynote speakers, two breakout sessions featuring six interest areas and a panel, as well as a Student Showcase Exhibition to enable delegates and students to connect over refreshments. Welcoming practitioners from across all sectors, inhouse, consultancy, public sector, freelance and students, the event will encourage them to take a deeper look into aspects of PR practice to reflect their own interests and continuous professional development needs.
