Top 10 Killer Interview Questions

Here’s how to nail the one interview question you can control. You’ve made it through the interview. You’ve told your story, sold your strengths, smiled and engaged, and now they hit you with…

Do you have any questions for us?

Most candidates breathe a sigh of relief as you can tell this interview is closing. Actually, this is your time to shine!

Believe it or not, this isn’t just a polite sign-off. This is one of the most important questions you’ll be asked—and one of the best opportunities you’ll get to stand out, make a lasting impression, and get one step closer to that job offer.

Why This Question Is Actually a Gift?

Let’s be honest, if you’re at the interview stage, you and the other candidates probably look similar on paper. So how do you stand out in a room full of polished profiles?

Simple. You ask better questions.

Not just any questions—smart, insightful ones that show you’ve done your homework, that you’re already thinking like someone on the team, and that you’re not just here for the free coffee. Bonus: it also gives you a chance to flip the script a little, build rapport, and make the conversation feel less like an interrogation and more like a collaboration.

Prep Like a Pro

Here’s the thing. By the end of the interview, your brain might feel like it's been through a spin cycle. You’ll be nodding, smiling, trying to remember names, and probably forgetting all the genius questions you rehearsed in the mirror the night before.

So, write them down. Bring them with you. Use them as a prompt. Interviewers won’t dislike you for being prepared, in fact, they’ll appreciate it. Aim for 2–3 great questions. Ten is overkill unless you're interviewing to be the next CEO.

For the love of your offer letter, avoid questions about salary, working hours, or how many days holiday you get off; we know those things matter—but timing is everything.
If you’re worried about the other benefits ask us, we might already have the information you’re looking for.

💡 10 Killer Questions to Ask at the End of an Interview

Want to stand out? Ask one or more of these:

  1. What would my key priorities be in the first few months?
  2. How would you describe the company culture?
  3. What type of people are successful here?
  4. What do you enjoy most about working here?
  5. Where is the company headed in the next 3 years and how could I contribute to that?
  6. What are the company’s core values, and how do they show up day-to-day?
  7. If there was one thing you wanted to improve, what would it be?
  8. When successful employees have left this role, why do they leave and what have they gone on to do?
  9. What do you believe is the one thing that’s central to the company’s success, that people outside the business wouldn't know?

And finally the mic drop question

"Now that you’ve met me, what do you see as being my biggest challenge in the role?"

Bold? Yes. But it shows self-awareness, confidence, and gives you a shot at clearing up any doubts while you're still in the room.

End on a High

Once your questions are answered, don’t just grab your bag and bolt. Wrap things up with a confident close. “Thanks again for your time today—I'm really excited about the role and the direction the company is heading. What are the next steps in the process?”
